Don’t Force Your Peace On Anyone
From today’s reading…
‘Whatever town or village you go into, seek out someone worthy and stay with him until you leave. As you enter his house, salute it, and if the house deserves it, may your peace come upon it; if it does not, may your peace come back to you.’” Matthew 10:11-13
Jesus knows you can lead a horse to water, but it’s just too dang much effort to try to get it to drink. The juice just ain’t worth the squeeze.
And pushing on a rope is just a recipe for frustration and irritation.
Use your tools, such as ropes and your peaceful spirit, appropriately.
Give freely but not forcefully.
Recognize that it is not your job to convert anyone.
It’s your job to live by example.
To be open and generous.
Not to save every puppy in the pound.
Save your energy for those who want to receive it.
Throw the rope of peace out there for any and all to grab hold of, then pull with all your might.
It’s the only way to…
Stay the course.Keep the faith.Endure.
Now go sell something.
