Do Not Try God’s Patience
From today’s reading…
He then said: Listen now, House of David: are you not satisfied with trying human patience that you should try my God’s patience too?” Isaiah 7:13
Ahaz was the king of Judah when the kings of Israel and Syria teamed up to attack him.
However, God had different plans and sent Isaiah to speak to Ahaz and reassure him that God had things under control and to ask for a sign to know He was truly God.
But Ahaz was not a good guy, as shown in 2 Chronicles 28 and 2 Kings 16, the latter of which describes how he sacrificed his own son to the pagan god Molech.
Yet God still wanted Ahaz to repent and recognize the power and authority of God, but Ahaz would not play along because he was stubborn, which did not end well for Ahaz.
Learn from Ahaz, which is a great example of how not to…
Stay the course.Keep the faith.Endure.
