Do Come Along In Our Company

From today’s reading…

Moses at once bowed down to the ground in worship.

Then he said, ‘If I find favor with you, O LORD,

do come along in our company.

This is indeed a stiff-necked people;

yet pardon our wickedness and sins,

and receive us as your own.’”

Yesterday Moses came down from Mt Sinai and found his people worshipping a golden calf and he smashed the 10 Commandments in anger.

Today Moses is meeting with the Lord “face to face, as one man speaks to another” in the meeting tent.

Everyone knows he is there and that the Lord is present because of the “column of cloud” that would descend upon the tent.

It is here that Moses once again intercedes on behalf of his people and seeks their forgiveness.

As he does, the Lord reminds Moses that He is…/p>

a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in kindness and fidelity,….”

Always remember that the Lord is both kind but He will not “declare the guilty guiltless.”

Follow the example of Moses. Seek the forgiveness of God. Fast and study His word, because it’s the only way to…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
