Joshua’s last act as leader of the Israelites was to challenge them to fish or cut bait.

That’s what leaders do. They don’t mix words. They don’t accept excuses. They say what they mean and they mean what they say. They challenge their people to set big goals and live up to them. They make their people understand and live with the consequences of their decisions and their actions.

All the tribes of Israel responded to Joshua that the Lord is the One True God, and that He was the One they would serve.
