Complacent? Exile Awaits You.

From today’s reading…
Woe to the complacent in Zion!
Lying upon beds of ivory,…
yet they are not made ill by the collapse of Joseph!
Therefore, now they shall be the first to go into exile,
and their wanton revelry shall be done away with.”
You can sin in one of two ways:
You can do the wrong thing.
You can fail to do the right thing.
Today we are reminded of the sin of omission twice.
The first from Amos chapter 6, which is summarized above.
The second is from Luke 16 today where Jesus tells us the story of Lazarus and the rich man who failed to even give his scraps to Lazarus.
Eternity did not work out well for the rich man and the complacent in Zion had their own hell on earth as well.
You can have heaven on earth and heaven in heaven if you’ll just…
Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
