Compassion, not Condemnation Leads To Salvation

From today’s reading…

Lord, do not deal with us according to our sins.

Remember not against us the iniquities of the past;

may your compassion quickly come to us,

for we are brought very low.” Psalms 79:8

In Daniel 9 and Psalm 79 we see the authors pleading for forgiveness and compassion but then Jesus tells us in Luke 6 to forgive, be merciful, stop judging, and condemning.

In other words, love your neighbor as yourself. Treat others the way you want others—including God—to treat you.
