Come Together As One Accord

From today’s reading…

Since we have heard that some of our number

who went out without any mandate from us

have upset you with their teachings

and disturbed your peace of mind,

we have with one accord decided…”

“The Apostles and the presbyters, your brothers,” understood from Day One the idea that “together we stand, divided we fall” so they acted in unison when it came to vital matters of the faith, which is why the Church remains 2,000 years later.

You don’t go form another church because you don’t like the music or the artwork or the pews or the hymnals.

You don’t go form another church because you don’t like the way the pastor does his hair or how he dresses.

You don’t change the dietary restrictions of your congregation based on the stock performance of your church’s pension.

You face tough issues together. You pray together. You decide together. You stick together, because that’s the only way to…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
