From today’s reading…

After Nathan had spoken to King David,

the king went in and sat before the LORD and said,

‘Who am I, Lord GOD, and who are the members of my house,

that you have brought me to this point?’” 2 Sam 7:18

We pick up right where we left off yesterday. The prophet Nathan told David that his kingdom would live forever.

Rather than take a victory lap or throw a party or taunt his opponents on HBO with Bill Mahr, David seeks some quiet time with the Lord to pray, to humble himself, and to give thanks.

When’s the last time you had some quiet time? Or prayed? Or humbled yourself? Or gave thanks?
