Come Into The Strong City

From today’s reading…

A strong city have we; he sets up walls and ramparts to protect us. Open up the gates to let in a nation that is just, one that keeps faith.”

In an ideal world we would not need walls or ramparts or gates or moats to protect us. Or would we?

In the beginning we read that Adam and Eve were placed in a garden that God planted on the earth “in the east.” It seems that there was a wilderness or some harsher terrain beyond the garden, yet it was paradise.

And even in paradise the occupants had to work to cultivate the garden and they had to follow the rules because there were those who wanted to destroy the garden and those who lived there.

The good news is you and I are welcome in the strong city where we’ll be protected as long as we…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
