Celebrate The Mighty Savior In Our Midst

From today’s reading…

On that day, it shall be said to Jerusalem:

Fear not, O Zion, be not discouraged!

The LORD, your God, is in your midst,

a mighty savior;”

This proclamation to remove our fear comes from Zephaniah, which he wrote around 630 B.C.

In Luke, Chapter 1, we read about the joy John the Baptist demonstrated while he was still in his mother’s, Elizabeth’s, womb as Mary approached with Jesus in her own womb.

(How do these clumps of cells recognize one another? Oops. Sorry about that. I digress…)

So John was the first person (that was not his mother or adopted father) to celebrate the presence of God in his midst.
