Call Him While He Is Near

From today’s reading…

Seek the LORD while he may be found;

call him while he is near.”

After nine years in the Air Force, 22+ years in sales, 445+ podcast interviews, 24+ years of marriage, and raising seven children, I can tell you that you are your toughest critic and your own worst enemy.

I’ve lost count of the number of guests on The Sales Podcast who have shared their hitting-rock-bottom stories with me who, fortunately, were able to turn their lives around after they fell from grace.

Why do we make things so hard?

Why do we feel so unworthy of love, of material success, of good health, of living a life of substance and significance instead of mere survival and subsistence?

Only God is without limitations, and to live with limitations means we must live with suffering. To understand the meaning of that suffering and to rise with it and because of it is the secret of life.

However, in just 20 days we’ll celebrate the not-so-secret birth of the One who provides that meaning.

In His infinite wisdom, He comes as a baby, the most approachable, easy-to-love, easy-to-hold creature in the world.

Not only can He not run away from you, He wants you to hold Him and to hold onto Him, because that is the only way to…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.

P.S. Don’t be like Roy McAvoy in “Tin Cup.” Do things the smart way. Reach out to Jesus when He’s near this Christmas season.
