Behold Your New Creation

From today’s reading…

So whoever is in Christ is a new creation:

the old things have passed away;

behold, new things have come.”

Every September since 2007 people have lined up outside hundreds of Apple stores around the world to be the first to own the newest iPhone.

Ditto for new attractions at Disney like the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge that requires you stay at their resort to get on the RSVP list to even have a chance at seeing it during the first month it’s open.

It’s in our DNA to seek something “new and improved.” To invent a better mousetrap. To smile when we see a baby. (It’s why the toughest character on the street or in a boardroom will hold a banana up to his ear and talk on the “phone” when a child hands it to him.)

Since we are made in the image of God, who sent His only Son to exemplify and personify the new life that we are called to follow, it is literally in our DNA to behold and embrace the newness that is Jesus.

So every day can be better than being given a new iPhone to use with your Disneyland VIP all-access pass to their new attraction the day before it opens to the general public and all you have to do is…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
