Be Generous and Relentless

From today’s reading…

All goes well for one who lends generously, who is honest in all his dealing; for all time to come he will not stumble, for all time to come the upright will be remembered.” Psalm 112:5-6

Generosity, kindness, and practicality are themes from today’s readings. Back on 11/17/18 we reviewed the blessings that come from helping strangers as described in 3 John 1. That ties right into today’s verses from Psalm 112. (We could use a few more honest people in government today, couldn’t we? I’d really appreciate it if they were less-generous with giving away my money! But I digress.)

In today’s Gospel from Luke 18, Jesus agrees that even heartless government officials can be persuaded to do the right thing if we are consistent (relentless?) in our prayers/requests/demands for honest dealings.

So be generous. Be honest. Be relentless in your prayer. It’s the only way to…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.

Now go sell something.
