Be Free of the Snare

From today’s reading…

Broken was the snare,

and we were freed.

Our help is in the name of the LORD,

who made heaven and earth.”

Today is the Feast of the Holy Innocents, martyrs.

As such, it’s appropriate we read from Matthew 2, which describes how Herod ordered the slaughter of all the young boys (back when gender was still a social construct and that silly tyrant believed in binary genders) in a failed attempt to kill baby Jesus.

The depravity of man has no limits it seems.

But 1 John 1 today reminds us that there is no darkness in God and if we acknowledge our weak and sinful ways, we will be forgiven just as Psalms 124 today foretold.

Jesus came to break the snare and free us forever. All we have to do is…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
