Be Easy To Find

From today’s reading…

He answered, ‘Here I am.’”

When you’re called, will you stand and be counted?

It’s easy to criticize from the safety and comfort of the sidelines.

It’s easy to be an armchair/Monday-morning quarterback.

It’s an altogether different world to rise up, to enter the arena, to compete, to be accountable.

Every day you are called to greatness, to testify, to struggle, to compete, to endure.

Are you listening for the call?

If you had submitted an application to Stanford or Shark Tank or QVC or America’s Got Talent and were told you’d be called today with an answer you’d have your cell phone fully charged, you’d sleep with it, you’d shower with it, you’d hold it carefully in both hands with a protective case around it, and you’d sit right next to the cell tower so you had a full signal so you’d be sure you’d be able to receive and answer the call when it came in.

Well today—and every day—you’re called to love the greedy, be patient with the rude, be kind to the jerks, listen to the know-it-alls, give comfort to the grieving, give strength to the weak.

But those actions won’t take place on a big stage under the bright lights in front of thousands with reporters filming it for all the world to see.

Nope.

Most of the these calls will happen in relative obscurity.

The only ones who may ever know are you and the person whose call you answered…or didn’t answer.

So where will you be today when you get the call?

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
