Arrogance Sent Him Off In a Rage
From today’s reading…
‘Surely, Abana and Parpar, the rivers of Damascus, are better than any water in Israel? Could I not bathe in them and become clean?’ And he turned round and went off in a rage.” 2 Kings 5:12
Naaman was the army commander to the king of Aram and had a pretty good life, other than his skin disease.
His king allowed him to travel to Israel to seek a cure, but Namaan’s assumptions and arrogance nearly ruined his efforts.
Fortunately for him, he had good servants, and he set aside his pride and rage long enough to follow the simple instructions of Elisha.
Life is not as complicated as we make it.
We say something is complicated to justify our lack of drive, focus, and discipline to tend to it.
Accept the simple Truth. Accept the simple cure.
Allow the simple Truth to guide you to the simple cure, which is the only way to…
Stay the course.Keep the faith.Endure.
