Always Prepare For The Thief In The Night

From today’s reading…

Concerning times and seasons, brothers and sisters,

you have no need for anything to be written to you.

For you yourselves know very well

that the day of the Lord will come like a thief at night.”

Two years and a week ago I flew to Houston to help with hurricane Harvey relief.

One day before I flew out I did not know I was going.

If I had known a week or even a month ahead of time it would’ve been too late to prepare physically, mentally, and economically to render assistance.

But I live within my means with my family and in how I run my business so I had the financial freedom to be able to leave for 8 days on a moment’s notice.

I exercise 5-7 days per week so I was physically ready.

I spent 9 years in the Air Force where I spent one year stationed overseas and had two short deployments to the Middle East so I was prepared psychologically for what I would encounter.

And I pray daily so I was prepared emotionally and spiritually for the suffering, sorrow, and loss I would encounter.

You need to get your affairs in order and keep them in order. ALL of them. Now. It’s the only way to…

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
