All Generations Will Call Me Blessed
From today’s reading…
And Mary said: My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour; because he has looked upon the humiliation of his servant. Yes, from now onwards all generations will call me blessed, for the Almighty has done great things for me. Holy is his name, and his faithful love extends age after age to those who fear him.” Luke 1:46-50
If you wanna fight, talk some smack about someone’s momma.
But you best have your sleeves rolled up, ‘cuz it’s gonna be on like a light switch.
And it’s universal.
I’ve experienced this in Korea and India, California and New York, Florida, and Hawaii.
My Native American friends act the same as my Filipino friends, who act the same as my Hispanic friends. And don’t even get me started on my black friends.
They’ll hop your butt as soon as you purse your lips to make the “m” sound after “Yo.”
However, there’s one Mom some people…set aside, overlook, send to the back of the bus.
That one Mom is THE Mom of Moms, Mary, the literal Mother of God.
Why is that?
I have a few ideas based on conversations with some Protestant brothers and sisters, but I won’t get into them here today.
