Act With Justice

From today’s reading…

Thus says Yahweh: Make fair judgement your concern, act with justice, for soon my salvation will come and my saving justice be manifest.” Isaiah 56:1

Are we called to “judge not lest ye be judged,” or are we called to judge fairly?

If we see our brother sinning, we are called to “rebuke him,” which sounds like judgment to me, albeit a judgment of the act, not of the state of the soul of the transgressor, which is a huge, vital, critical difference.

We judge everything all the time.

We judge the meals we eat, the clothes we wear, the cars we drive, the homes we live in, the arguments and talking points politicians try to force down our throats (you’re judging my use of that last statement…and this post…and me right now), the salesperson’s pitch, quality of the roads on which you drive, and even the dog-gone weather, to which, as a degreed meteorologist, I take great offense, which means you’re judging me for judging you for judging the weather!

We’re insane…but I digress.

Go ahead and continue to judge.

Just do it fairly.

Be kind to your neighbor, your family, the…ahhh…driver with an attitude next to you, store clerks, waiters, waitresses, flight attendants, and yourself.

We all need to catch a break from time to time, and second chances are hard to come by, so be kind and seek justice, which is the only way to…

Stay the course.Keep the faith.Endure.

Market like you mean it. Now go sell something.
