A Son Is Given To Us

From today’s reading…

…upon those who dwelt in the land of gloom

a light has shone.

…For the yoke that burdened them,

the pole on their shoulder,

and the rod of their taskmaster

you have smashed, as on the day of Midian.

…For a child is born to us, a son is given us;

upon his shoulder dominion rests.

…His dominion is vast

and forever peaceful,….”

Once again Isaiah accurately foretells the joy that is to come for us.

Today, our star shines bright.

Today, our burden is lessened.

Today, our taskmasters are taken to task.

Today, the ultimate Son comes in the most approachable form possible: an infant.

Today, He comes so we are not afraid to approach Him.

Today, He gives Himself to us as an infant so we can see how good and perfect the world can be when we allow love to flow fully and unconditionally. To both give it and receive it.

Today, we are given a glimpse into how God sees us and wants us to live, which is why we must… 

Stay the course. Keep the faith. Endure.
